We have long recognized a need for more developmental "lab" space and time in Philadelphia for the creation of original work. Through the Live Arts Brewery (LAB) and the Second Thursdays Series, we are now able to offer this vital service to artists and audiences alike.
The LAB enhances our mission to support Philadelphia-based artists creating contemporary performance work by offering Philly-based artists free access to studio space and time to let their creative process run wild as they think, research, and develop new work.
For the 2010-2011 season, we are pleased to support the following LAB Fellows: Makoto Hirano, Gregory Holt, Adrienne Mackey, Megan Mazarick, Mary McCool, Jumatatu Poe, Les Rivera, and Alex Torra. Learn more...
In conjunction with the LAB, we offer the Second Thursdays Series wherein LAB Fellows and guest artists from the region share with audiences their works-in-progress.
These casual, intimate programs are free and open to the public. Artists perform segments of new work, tell stories about their un-traditional research, or discuss their current imaginings for upcoming pieces.
Second Thursdays take place on the second Thursday of each month, October - June at 7pm. Learn more...
You can support this new endeavor with a generous tax-deductible gift today. Your contribution will help ensure the programs' success as we seek to expand year-round services for Philly artists.
