| The
Fringe has scoured the globe to bring this gathering of international,
national and Philadelphia-based artists to the Festival to encourage
an artistic dialogue of cultural sensibilities and ideas. Emerging
from local acclaim, these artists are on the cusp on international
attention - they are today's burgeoning risk-takers to watch.
We know the world is shrinking, but the mix of ideas keeps the
global arts community thriving, and this requires that the artists
come together in one place. A place like the Philadelphia
Fringe. |

Warhol
Night at the Fringe Cabaret
|
|
Featuring
Penny Arcade
9/7 11:00 pm - 2 am
It's Andy Warhol's Factory all over again as
glam superstar Penny Arcade rocks the stage in an evening
of Warhol-inspired performances and art. From the Morrissey/Warhol
movie "Women in Revolt," and years of working with experimental
theater greats, Penny Arcade has become a pivotal innovator
in New York City's performance scene. In conjunction with
the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts' Andy Warhol: Social
Observer exhibition that through September 21, the Fringe
pays homage to a pioneer of artistic independence, one of
history's best advocates of accessibility in art.
